Good day Captivate Community!

I am having trouble opening a new blank or responsive project in Captivate since installing the new update. After installing the first time I could open a blank project, but then suddenly Captivate stopped allowing me to open new blank or responsive projects. The other options for new projects all work and I can open a old project.

I have run the CleanPreferencesWin.bat, cleared the cache, and performed a reinstall to try to fix the issue. Even after the reinstall, I cannot open a new blank file. I am using Windows and everything was working fine before the update.

I am including a video demonstrating the problem.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

We called Adobe to help and figured out that the Layouts folder was not generating. It is working now! Thanks, for your help!

How do you get the Layouts folder to generate? I’m having the same problem.

Delete the Layouts folder in Public Documents (Windows version) while Captivate is closed. When you restart CP a new copy from the original folder will be created. The Layouts folder has the Themes installed with Captivate and each project needs to use a theme.

Are you using the same Captivate version as the OP? Are you on Mac or Windows?

When you try the reinstall, did you use windows to uninstall previous version.

Try to get a program call  Revo Uninstaller  ver 1.92 . Learn how to use the program, read the manual. This program take care of all the junk left over from uninstalling. Try again.

Adobe applications do not work with third party uninstallers, have tried several. Moreover, with the exception of Acrobat there is No need whatsoever to uninstall a previous version.

Is everything installed on your system, not on a networked or external drive, including the paths in Preferences, General settings? Do you run Captivate with ‘Run as Administrator’ setting?
