Hi everyone.. I am a newbie.. so excuse me if this is a daft question.
I just recorded a video with audio of how to set Outlook 2013 out the office.
Started at Outlook home tab, then selected file, went through about 10 or more steps in setting the OOO automatic reply options.
The project only captured 2 AV slides.. I thought there would be more. Also its missing much of the Visual content, including the beginning.. In fact the beginning may actually be at the end.. very strange.
Anyone have any suggestions please?
Thanks in advance..

Hi Lieve, thanks for your reply. I am recording in demo mode that should generate lots of slides. What we have worked out is that when recording Outlook 2013 it is very fussy. If we enable the Preference options for Recording of Camera Sounds and Keystrokes it generates 6 slides and if not enabled we get 2 slides. However the 2 slides miss out on the beginning state of the Outlook Home tab window.. in my recording I start at the home tab inbox, then select File to allow me to clock the automatic replies button from the back stage. The first slide misses the home outlook tab.. it starts with the backstage open.. also lots of the key strokes, clicks are simply missing.
You are recording a software simulation, not a Video Demo. Please, if you want a good quality output, use Video Demo instead. Or, if you insist on the software sim, take a lot of extra manual screenshots. You can have issues with the FMR slides as well, I always stop before recording a motion and switch to a Video Demo slide
Go into Preferences, Recording, Video Demo and switch from 16 to 32)bit, it affects also FMR slides in software sim, demo mode.
I have done some more testing. I notice that with the sounds of the camera shutter on etc.. that the camera shutter noise does not start till I am within the backstage of outlook 2013 and actually click the Automatic Replies button. No matter what I do before hand..e.g. clicking the outlook Home tab, Send Receive, Home Folder, makes no difference.. it does not record slides for that.. only when i click the Automatic replies button…

Your question is not totally clear. Will try to explain. Captivate offers two ways to record a software demonstration:
- by using the Video Demo, which will result in one video, which can be published only to mp4.; it has a nice editor with many editing, non-destructive possibilities; probably best quality for a passive video output
- by recording a software simulation in demo mode; in that case you’ll end up with a cptx project, which has indeed static slides and maybe some inserted Full Motion Recording slides; this is the older way, maybe easier to manage and edit but quality not as high as for Video demo output.
