Need Bookmark Resume message to show up in Captivate 2019
(6)

Hi,

I have the bookmark feature set and it is working fine–takes me back to where I left off but the client wants a resume message that allows the learner to resume where they left off or start at the beginning.

I have seen posts about using the TOC self paced learning option but we are not using a TOC. I have tried it though (knowing I could hide the expand button for the TOC in a pinch) but this is not working for me on SCORM cloud.

Can anyone provide instructions on how to make this message appear? (SCORM package for Success Stories LMS)

Thanks!

Thanks for the replies–but let me clarify. The bookmark feature is working fine. The learner closes the module and when the come back–it takes them to where they left off. What is not working is that there is no prompt for them when the return that asks them if they want to continue where the left off or start from the beginning. This prompt is what I need to work.

I have tried using the TOC Self paced learning checkbox–this does not produce a prompt in SCORM cloud or the clients LMS.

I am on the latest version of Captivate, delivering a SCORM 1.2 package to a client that is using Success Factors LMS.

TOC bookmarking is overridden when you use a LMS.

There is a bookmarking issue with the most recent version, some got a hotfix which should be made public soon.

BTW Local storage is only working if the learner accesses the course always from the same system.

Hello Lake and dog,

In order to do what you want, you need to create you own bookmark.

Does not use the Captivate bookmark system. (no bookmark, it will no work)

First, you need to capture the slide number where the to insert the bookmark.

The variable that holds the data should be in local storage.

As the users come back into the system.

Slide 1 will check to see if the user has been here before and offer the user the ability to start over again or go to the last slide visited.

In addition the welcome back text.

Luis

Are you on 11.5 or 11.0?

That message shows up if you use bookmarking through TOC. If you use LMS bookmarking, the message depends on the LMS. It is not clear what you are using.

We are delivering a scorm package for a client LMS. They use Success Factors.
