I’ve now installed/uninstalled/reinstalled Captivate 2019 5 times in an effort to get text-to-speech working with the non-Microsoft voices that are in my Captivate 9 project. Keep getting the message that the voices are NOT installed, even though I’ve gone through the installed AND copied file directories in multiple places. Now what? I’m late for a deadline and ready to call Captivate 2019 a non-starter going forward. Yes, I’m a licensed user; Yes, I’m signed in.
I am having the same issue. I downloaded the voices and they are on my desktop. However, when I go to slide notes and try to click “text-to-speech” It says I have not downloaded them. How do you transfer the voices to captivate from your desktop???
You need to perform a few more steps in order to have access to the text-to-speech voices.
- Once you have downloaded the file called Captivate_2019_x64_Neo_Content_LS21.exe you will need to double click that file. This will open the Captivate Voices 2019 installation program. It will prompt you to extract Captivate Voices 2019 to a default folder which is usually your desktop.
- Click Next. You will see a preparing files message and progress bar. Once the preparing files process is complete you will have a new folder on your desktop that contains the installation set-up file and a few other folders. The Adobe Captivate Voices Installer will attempt to automatically run.
- If it doesn’t run automatically or if you interrupt it you can open up the newly created folder on your desktop and double click on the Set-up file to begin installation.
Once installed you should now have access to the text-to-speech voices from within Adobe Captivate next time you launch it.
Make sure you are using the correct installation program for the version of Captivate you are running and not necessarily the version the original course was created with.
