Hi all!  I’m having a huge problem with branching.  I have a project with 2 branches for different personnel which are selected on a menu slide with buttons that jump to the section of the project that applies to the personnel.

The content is a series of software simulations with click boxes to test users’ knowledge of the software.  The interactions are scored and are added to the quiz totals.  Without Branching, the project runs and scores all points.  However, since the user is only able to see their own section, they can only acquire 50% of the points.  As soon as I make the “Quiz” Branch Aware to address the scoring issue, the project cannot be previewed in HTML or SWF, and stalls.  I eventually get an error message saying that a “long-running script is causing an issue” but I do not have any advanced interactions or programming attached to the project. It then causes Captivate to crash and shut down when running a SWF preview.  HTML previews will not run once the play button is clicked, only a blank page is shown.

Can branching be used in software simulations?  I’ve had no issues before using branching with other projects, but they are not software simulations/quizzes.  I have 2 branches with about 150 slides each.  Possibly too big?  I’ve checked the advanced interactions, all Quiz Objective ID#’s are the same.

Sorry, didn’t answer. You need to subscribe to the thread if you want to get notifications.  It is not really user friendly, moderation takes too much time (no moderation since Monday this week). If you need a quick answer, better post in the Adobe forums, there is a dedicated Captivate forum and it is moderated 24/7.

Double post, right? Tired of waiting for moderation probably.  I answered to your first question.
