I seem to have difficulty in finding a way to highlight the cursor in video demonstration (a circle around the mouse for example), this is available in less quality focussed software, surely there must be a way to do it here in captivate.

Any suggestions?

Could you find a way to mimick a highlighter?

For demonstrations I largely prefer Video Demo, although it is usually more work. One of the reasons is not only the higher quality (and lower file size when published to MP4) but the Video editor which has a lot more functionalities than the mouse features in the older software simulations.

In Video Demo switch to ‘Edit mouse points’ and you’ll see a lot of possibilities to mark the click area of the mouse at the end of its path. I often will even delete the path and show only that click. Have a look at one of my interactive videos based on Video Demo to see what I mean.

In a software sim you can edit the look of the mouse but there is no real ‘highlighting’ feature. I will ad a highlight box on the click area (or a shape with no fill but only a stroke, and can have any shape instead of the rectangular highlight box), sometimes with an added effect like Flicker or Heart Beat.
