Summary
Having trouble with downloading the Assets
Captivate will completely shut down when I click the Download button on the Asset I have chosen. Is anyone else having this problem?

Are you in a company behind a Firewall? That could be the cause of the problems.
You are on a version of 11.5 since you mention the Assets panel. The downloaded content should be in a subfolder of the eLearning Assets. On a Windows system eLearning Assets are in the Public Documents\Adobe\ folder. You can try to delete that folder while Captivate is closed (sometimes it gets corrupted). Then restart CP and try to download again.
