I just started the online version of the Adobe Certified Professional course, and there appear to be no closed captions or transcript available. As a hard-of-hearing user, this is a major road block, especially considering the speaker’s accent.
I would love for somebody from Adobe to respond and explain why captions and a transcript aren’t included, especially considering how quick and cheap transcription services are. This whole course could be closed captioned in half a day. It seems unlikely that I would be the first person who would benefit from closed captioning and/or transcription for this course.
Very disappointed in Adobe today.
Wow, I just began my certification training and didn’t notice the missing option…but it would be nice. I did notice upon a right-click that the video was created or is hosted by Brightcove. It may be worthwhile to contact them to see if they have any suggestions.
Thanks, Paul. Unfortunately, they responded to notify me that “No, closed captions are not available.” They offered the great advice to slow the course down. LOL I actually watched it in 2X speed just to get it over with and take my exam. LOL I will be blogging about this and quoting their responses, for sure!
I’m sorry to hear that. I’m someone who is quite passionate about making all my material as accessible as possible. My father is entirely deaf in one ear and mostly deaf in the other. Most of his life was difficult, to begin with, but the most frustrating challenge was little or no accommodation from organizations that should have had the resources to provide this accomodation.
