Hi,

I am preparing a module which involves different components related to typical electrical circuits with different names / nomenclature.  How can I add searching capability in Captivate ? This is not required on TOC level but more towards better searching on other.  For example: If I can enter  ” CKT 33” all results related to this keyword will be displayed.

Looking for a solution on this !

You can realize this by creating a popup menu which bookmarks to the different slides/videos.   Or are you talking about hundreds of words? Here is an example of an interactive video, where I have a menu bar which has a dropdown menu.

Custom Play/pause button

You can find also a blog explaining how to use Hyperlinks for such a dropdown menu in my blog.

Captivate is an eLearning authoring tool. I’m sorry but I do not understand how this ‘wikipedia’ feature would fit in an eLearning course? Maybe you could explain how you would see this? You can add a glossary to the course, and made this available on each slide but my imagination doesn’t allow me to see how you would have a result like you want? There is a Search functionality in the TOC as you have already discovered, and also in the developing environment, but not in a published course.

Thanks, the requirement is a kind of search mechanism, wherein the actual end user (who is Technician) can enter keywords related to a circuit component, and then he can click on required result and proceed to learn through video/ related content.
