Hi,

Are there alternate software simulation tools I can use when these Captivate issues occur? I am feverishly trying to get through multiple courses and this has put me further behind. Has anyone had any good experiences with other products, even if its not a perfect solution, it’s better than nothing. Thanks!

Is that such a secret application? Why not post it publicly, everyone likes to learn something new.

You didn’t specify which ‘type’ of software simulations? If you are talking about passive video (Demo mode) have a look at Camtasia, which is perfect for that goal. However I don’t know a real alternative for Captivate’s Training/assessment simulations without a lot of manual work.

This particular issue is very weird, and in my 15 years experience with Captivate I cannot remember such a situation.  Since it happened to so many users, just after a Windows update, the probable cause is identified. But what is causing the conflict? The most recent workaround  – which seems to be functional for a lot – is to disconnect from the network before starting Captivate. Once it is started you can reconnect. Annoying but if it works for you, not for a long time.
