How to add new data to existing Software simulation
Hi All, I created my First Software simulation but client is asking to do amendments to it. Please guide me How to add new data to existing Software simulation file.. I dont want to re-record it was data is very lengthy.. Also the errors I made are very small.. Hence would like to add only the new data to the existing files

Ishan explained how you can add or insert extra slides in a software simulation. The biggest problem is that you have to set up the ‘to be recorded’ file in exactly the situation needed.
Since you tagged both Video Demo and Software simulation, I would love to know which workflow you have been using? It is also possible to trim parts, and replace them with another part, but workflow is different (planned to blog the workflow since quite a while). To edit parts of the result is very different for Software sims than for Video Demo projects.
You talk about ‘data’, can you be more specific? It is not always necessary to re-record and replace the slide which can be rather cumbersome. Here are some possibilities of needed editing:
- In all modes: you need to edit the static background of the slide. You can do that using a bitmap graphics application with the Edit option on the background in the Library.
- In all modes: you need to edit the feedback messages. That is very easy of course.
- In demo mode: you need to edit a Full Motion Recording slide. Or you need to edit text which was entered during the capturing.
- In other modes: editing typos for text entry boxes is much easier than in demo mode. Knowing which mode you need to edit would help as well.

- Hi Thx for the response.. I AM Doing Software simulation. Data means the screen recording I AM Doing through Software simulation option and my requirements is to edit full motion slide (it is not video) and replace the errors at the exact same location with correct one.. Hope it helps you to answer my concern as it is client Software I can’t share more PHOTOS.. Attached only one

You showed a photo of a normal slide, not of a FMR slide. It would be nice to insert a screenshot of the full timeline instead of a photo. I see the narration and the mouse object, reason why I suspect this to be a normal slide. Since you have a mouse object, it is a simulation in demo mode.
A FMR slide IS a video slide, normally a FLV (Flash-based) slide which will be converted to MP4 on publishing. Did you also add audio to the FMR slides?
Editing a FMR slide is almost impossible. I maintain my suggestion to replace it by a Video Demo slide. The video demo editor has a lot more editing functionality. Use the same button Slides, but choose Video Demo instead of Software simulation.
Replacing the audio is a breeze: either you find it in the Library, edit the audio and keep the same name. Or you delete the audio (select its timeline) which is below the slide Timeline and import or record the new audio.
Once you have recorded your software simulation, you can add more slides by selecting the Slides button on the top left corner or press Ctrl+Alt+O. Then select the slide after which you’d like to record the additional slides. See the attached image for reference.

Thx Ishan.. What I AM Looking is to add more data in between the same slide and not add new one.. Example slide length is 10 mins and error is at 6th min.. In want to remove the error at the 6th minute and replace it with correct data.. Also I have audio attached with simulation.. So need to add the new recording to it.. Hope I AM able to explain it now
