Hello, folks. I have limited experience as a Captivate user – definitely not an expert. my environment is Adobe Captivate 2019 on macOS Big Sur (11.6). What I want to do: use Captivate to just capture a series of screen shots and then tie these together with click boxes so that in going from screen image n to image n+1, you’d click just where you would if you were using the software of interest in a “live” way – so, a simulated demonstration. I did that once last year, and it worked out just fine, but my memory of how I did that is fuzzy (based on a video tutorial I can no longer locate). Here’s my problem: even though I think I set up Captivate to do an assessment-style software simulation, and I indicated that I only wanted to capture content for a particular application (happens to be my Firefox browser), Captivate seems to capture whatever’s in the “red box” (not just the Firefox window, as desired) whenever I move my cursor via my MacBook’s trackpad (not just when I click on something). My question: How can I get Captivate to capture ONLY Firefox screens, even as, while I’m using Firefox, I also go to a Word document to look up some reference stuff (in other words, don’t capture images of the Word document on my screen), and ONLY when I click on a Firefox screen (not when I just move my cursor)? I’d be OK with just manually pushing a key (or key combo) to capture screen images, and I’ll string them together later – if I were to do that (only capture a screen image when I press a certain key or key combo), how would I do that?
