Ghost images after deleting slide background

Hello,

If i capture a software simulation in 2019, occasionally I find that if i delete a slide background image it deletes the majority of the image but I’m left with a ghost object which i cannot select, but appears animated. This is often behind a drop down field or a similar control. The capture is normally of browser based systems, using either Chrome or Edge, windows 10, captivate 2019. All latest releases.

I’ve been deleting the slide and starting it again, but does anyone know why this might be happening so i can avoid the issue all together?

It’s one of the mysteries I cannot figure out.

It usually happens when some change happen when a mouse hovers to an icon or menu, with such icon or menu changing or a tooltip appearing.

There are two images, a static screen capture that is setup as the background of your slide, and a hover version, which is only a small section of the background. The hover version is apprently a separate image but is not in the timeline and nowhere in the Library, or at least I cannot find it in the library.

If you delete the slide background, the hover version stays.

It is also one of the mysteries I cannot figure out.

If I am taking captures, and one of that involves the mouse hovering on an icon or menu, which then changes its color or have a tooltip appears, the hover image is nowhere in the timeline, meaning it is part of the background.

If I remove the background and run the preview, on the last few 1/10-th of a second (decisecond?), a small part of the captured interface with the hover image appears.

I cannot remove it, and it seems to be nowhere in the Library. If I want to use the original background image without the hover version, I need to create a new slide, set up the original background as project background, and then delete the slide with the hover version.

Software simulations use the Blank master slide, and insert a background image for each slide taken from the captured software.  You didn’t tell if these were eventually FMR slides, (Full Motion Recording) which are indeed movie slides.

It also happens on static captured slides that a short animation is included. If you need full control over the background images, I would consider adding multiple manually added slides.
