Need some ideas for interactive eLearning tools
New to Captivate, looking to upload finished project to LMS. What are some of your favourite tools to make learning interactive for adults? We are catering to a 50+ group of people, age wise. I would like to make it as interactive as I can without it being to overloaded with interaction.
Create learning interactions that are more simulations of what these people will be expected to do. For example, if you are teaching people how to negotiate with potential clients, you could present a scenario and have them select what might be the most appropriate thing to say or do. Without knowing much more about what you are trying to train, I can’t be more specific.
Puzzles and games are fine at making training fun. However, they often do not effectively contribute to learning. For example, a colleague of mine recently completed some training that positioned all the teaching as if every participant was in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. Potter fans, I’m sure, loved it, but my colleague was bored and felt left out.
You could make activities coded on HTML, CSS and JS, if you are and advanced user.
Make interactions on Animate, export an OAM package and import into Captivate.
With the basic features of Captivate, like buttons and actions you can create interactions that looks great, but internally are very simple.
Quite a while ago I presented a webinar about Interactivity using examples in Captivate. It is more technical, because I find it very difficult to give a complete answer since so little information is available about the group of adults you are pointing at. However here is the link to the blog post which was created from that webinar:

You may understand from this blog that the majority of interactivities I create are done with Captivate’s multiple features. Occasionally I will use Animate (to create OAM’s with interactivity) and of course other Adobe apps (to create assets, not interactivity).
