I have a project that includes a video without audio that has been imported into the slide, and an audio file that has been imported into the slide. The audio file needs to be separate from the video as I have closed captioning on it. I was using the playback bar on my video for user controls (play/pause, closed captioning) for the video.
Is there a way that I can make the slide audio pause when the user pauses the video, without a significant amount of advanced actions? Have there been any updates in the recent years that helps this functionality?
Captivate’s timeline works a little differently than other applications that use timelines. If your slide with audio pauses due to an interactive button with a pause on the slide, the audio will continue. The only time slide audio stops is when you manually press the pause button on your timeline. I advise opening the audio and the video in your favorite video editing tool and merging them. Then, publish a new version of the video with the audio and import that into your Captivate slide. The result should give you a seamless approach to pausing and playing the slide with the audio and video working as one.
Hmm… this is weird. You are using slide video, because that is the only possibility to have the slide audio synchronized with the video and the CC. The Pause button on the default playbar has an absolute Pause command which should pause both video and audio. Have a look at:
