This project reviews intervals, scales, and keys with sharps (and the order of sharps) in the circle of fifths in the context of a fantasy game. The player will answer questions on these topics and follow the clues to reunite all the magical keys of the Circle of Fifths, a council of rulers from a mystical land. In order to vanquish the dark scourge now overtaking their land, they must succeed in their mission while dealing with many surprises along the way.
Am I missing something here? I have to pay$33/month just to see this?
What’s the point of that? And if I am missing something, how do I open a CPTX file?
I guess years of sequencing, sampling, plug-ins, DAWs, etc. did not prepare me for another Adobe
money grab. Oh well.
This is indeed a great example project (I already posted a comment a while ago).
There is some lack of ‘clear communication’, which is saddening. I will try to give you some more information, because my intuition tells me that you are trying to use the most recent version of Captivate which is at this moment 12.3. That new version is completely incompatible with all previous versions. You cannot open a cptx file in it. However your license also supports Captivate Classic. You can install it freely on the same system as your present version. In that Classic version you will be able to open this project.
Captivate’s HTML5 output – as is the case for this project – is like a website with a lot more interactivity than usual. So the answer is positive: yes, you can watch this project in a browser on any OS. However I wouldn’t recommend Safari which is the default browser on Mac devices, because it is not the best choice. If you have problems please switch to Chrome or Firefox.
I taught music in public schools for many years. I must say this is quite an awesome project! It would be a great review for music theory students because it also includes a listening section. The storyline was quite compelling and of course the stills and videos were well chosen and captivating! Outstanding use of Cps tools!
Thanks for sharing!
Being a musician myself I greatly appreciated this course. I love the story, the clear goal, and after some translation (in Belgium we use do, re, mi, ….) was successful in the questions as well. Congratulations!
Of course as eLearning developer I could offer some more ideas to make the course more engaging but the graphics, story, and use of Captivate’s quiz features are great. Please take out that play bar, it is too much clashing with the beautiful graphics. You don’t really need it since you are guiding the learner with custom buttons. You can contact me if you want more ideas, without any commitment. At this moment I am not really present in this community anymore, but couldn’t prevent myself from trying to voice my appreciation!
