I am using Captivate 2019 on Mac Monterey OS. I created a project in which I inserted interactive video and then multiple overlay slides. All of that is working as expected. When I preview it in HTML 5, everything works as expected EXCEPT the video slide. The video in the captivate project takes up the whole slide. However, in both HTML5 and I uploaded to LMS in a SCORM file, the video is smaller. It shows the background at the top and bottom. The issue with this is I have a few callouts that highlight a portion of the video with a box, and on the captivate slide it is where it is supposed to be, but on the project (both HTML5 and SCORM) it is smaller, making the callout boxes in the wrong location. I have attached two pictures, one shows what it looks like on the captivate slide. The other one shows (with the red errors) what it looks like in the project. I am sure it has something to do with a setting but I have been playing with it all morning and cant figure it out, so any help would be greatly appreciated!!
You are not using the most recent version. Have a look at the blog post:

Hmmm, you have added static objects to the video itself. That is something which should be done in a video editor. For the video you saw in the link, I used Video Demo (included with Captivate) and added objects in that Video Demo Editor, not on the slide with the slide video in the cptx project. If the video is not created with Captivate I would use Premiere Pro or Premiere Rush (not so complicated) to add objects in the video.
I know that Camtasia is superior to Video Demo, but of course when using in a Captivate project the collaboration with Captivate is more important. That is the reason I always use Video Demo instead of Camtasia.
Thanks Lieve Weymeis.
That ended up being my work around was putting the objects into the video itself. Also the link for 11.8.1 still says Captivate 11.8.1 is here! It’s time to update. This is a Windows-only update.
Am I missing something on it, it said the Mac version is coming but I don’t see where it has been released. Thank you again for your valuable feedback. I have not messed with video demo, I will take a look at it.
Sorry, forgot that the Mac version is still not released. Hope that it will be done soon.
Here are some ideas about Interactive Video:

You can find more on my blog, using the tag Interactive Video.
Same with tag Video Demo… The editor is non-destructive.
Is it possible show the full version number, which you can find under Help, About Captivate?
Your Mac version should need the version 11.8.1; is that the case?
You didn’t specify if this is a non-responsive project? If that is the case, did you publish it with Rescalable HTML activated in the Publishing dialog box? The height/width ratio will then be kept. Does the original video have the same ratio as the Captivate project? I have to tell you that I am a Windows user. I have created several Interactive videos like this one, but didn’t have the problems you describe. What do you mean by ‘callouts’? They are not on the overlay slides? Have a look at this example of interactive video, do you see any issues like you describe?
Lieve Weymeis Thank you for the response. Sorry, I thought I had included everything in my post. I am using Captivate 11.8.0.710 which I believe is the most up-to-date for Mac. It is a non-responsive project, and it was scaleable when I put it on my LMS. The only thing I am not sure of is if the video was the same ratio. It was a video I made in Camtasia. I will retest that and make sure they are the same and see if the same results. It was just really strange about the way the video ended up with those blank areas, but the overlay slides when they popped up covered the full area. And sorry for the misuse of terms by callouts (Camtasia term) I had placed a box around something on the video I wanted to highlight which was not part of the overlay (wasn’t significant enough to have on the overlay) but just wanted to draw attention to it. I did not see any issues in the interactive video you shared like I was having. I will try the size check and see if that makes a difference on what I am seeing and will respond back. Thanks again for taking the time to respond. I am still new to captivate (only using it for less than three months) and between you and a few others with blogs and videos is how I have taught myself!
