Help with ‘Camera Busy’ issue.
I have been trying to create a Video Demo for some time. I am using the latest version of Captivate. I have checked.
I am using two monitors. When I run Captivate on the right-hand monitor, if I try to create a Video Demo, Captivate shuts down. No ifs not buts, it just closes. It sometimes asks if I want to send a report to Adobe. It no longer does this, probably because I’ve done it so many times.
I put Captivate on my left-hand monitor, and I’ve just tried to create a Video Demo. I was very surprised to find that the first screen showed up. Captivate did not shut down. However, the video showing in the display window was from my laptop camera and looked like it was being shot in the thirties.
The dropdown does allow me to change the camera to my USB Live camera, which I use for all other camera-related tasks, however, (there are a few howevers), when I clicked the option in the drop-down, I received a message that told me my camera was busy.
My camera was not being used by any other application at the time.
Can you tell what happens when you do a real screen recording without activating the simultaneous Camera recording (which will record your face and movements)? The application to be recorded needs to be on the primary monitor and you have to set up the monitor so that 1px is 1px. That is possible by changing the DPIAwareness setting or by changing the resolution of the monitor so that 100% display can be used.
I have heard about problems with some cameras, but recording you is not the main purpose of a Video Demo, at least it is not for me. I always use Video Demo to be used for interactive videos or for YT videos.
