Working the New Captivate/Captivate 12 and having problems getting my images to scale properly into the media blocks. When I go to edit the image there is only the ability to crop and not scale the image. So it appears the only way to get the image to fit in the media block is to customize each image size to the size of the media block – which is an extreme amount of work.
In Captivate 2019 I could drop an image onto the the stage and click “fit to stage”, then grab the corners of the image and use Shift key to change the scale. It appears this option no longer available in the New Captivate.
Am I missing something here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi jackiec25068954 ,
Captivate 12.3 allows you to scale the image across devices.
Add an image in an image content block and select the Edit icon in the Visual Properties panel.
Apart from cropping the image you can:
- Fill/fit/stretch the image within the container.
- Make the image scaled or fixed height within the container.
See the doc for more details.
Which version are you using? Make sure to update to version 12.3.
In the Properties of the image, under the first line where you choose your image to replace the placeholder there is an option ‘Display’. Open its dropdown list and you’ll find Fill (default), Fit and Stretch. I think you’ll want Fit.
Your conclusion is not correct neither, since in a responsive project there is no real ‘size’, and although I pleaded to have rulers in percentage, that never was added.
