Hotspot Duration
(1)

I’m trying to put together a VR project involving a video on which I’d like to incorporate hotspots for text or bringing up images. I can insert the hotspot into the video and it appears in the timeline but the duration remains at the default 0.1 seconds and there is no way apparent to me to change it. I play the video and the hotspot appears for a tenth of a second before disappearing. This is the same whether I use a video or 360 image. I’m using version 11.8.3.8 on Windows 11. Widgets under the “Insert” are also unavailable in VR projects. Any suggestions?

To create a VR project in Adobe Captivate Classic (version 11.8.3.8) where you can incorporate hotspots into a video or a 360 image and control their duration, you might be facing some challenges with the default settings and the limitations of the software in handling VR content. Let’s address your issues step-by-step:

Understanding the Hotspot Duration Issue:
In Adobe Captivate Classic, when you add a hotspot to a VR project (either on a 360 image or a video), the default duration may be set to 0.1 seconds. This is not ideal if you want the hotspot to appear for longer or for the entire duration of the video. Here’s how you can fix it:

Adjusting the Hotspot Duration:

  • To change the duration of a hotspot in a VR project:
  • Select the Hotspot: Click on the hotspot you’ve inserted into your VR project.
  • Open the Timing Panel: Go to the “Properties” panel on the right side and click on the “Timing” tab.
  • Set the Duration: You should see a field labeled “Display For”. Change the value from the default (0.1 seconds) to the desired duration.
