Ok some good news!!! the hot fix is ready. Here are the steps for using the hot fix: On Windows: 1.       Close Adobe Captivate 5.0 if already running. 2.       Go to the captivate installation folder. 3.       Find the file CPAnimationUtils.dll and rename it to CPAnimationUtils_old.dll. 4.       Download the CPAnimationUtils.zip from here and extract the CPAnimationUtils.dll. 5.       Place the extracted CPAnimationUtils.dll in the captivate installation folder. 6.       Launch Adobe Captivate 5.0 now. 7.       Open the projects which have text animations in […]

Recovering the project

Sometimes Captivate fails to open a project file (.cptx). There could be multiple reasons for such an issue. One such reason could be attributed to some corrupt data structure owing to loss of data. To prevent loss of data, enable project backup in Captivate through Preferences (Edit (on Windows)/Adobe Captivate (on Mac) > Preferences > Global > General Settings > Generate Project Backup).  This will create a .bak file for your project (from second save onwards), which will contain the previously saved […]

Project cache in Adobe Captivate 5 helps you save and open projects faster. When you create a project in Adobe Captivate 5, a corresponding project cache folder is automatically created. This folder is saved in the project cache root folder specified in the project Preferences. Install this patch to fix the issues that occur while upgrading earlier versions of Adobe Captivate projects to Adobe Captivate 5. Installation Steps: Windows: Take a backup of the file VeelaUpgrader.dll. Download the Zip File. Unzip the contents, rename AdobePatchInstaller.abc to AdobePatchInstaller.exe Double click set-up file. The patch gets installed, replacing the old VeelaUpgrader.dll file with the new one.
