ResponsiveThis is an exciting time for eLearning developers. After what seems like an eternity of anticipation, mLearning is finally taking off, and now is the perfect time to hone up on the new skills you’ll need to bring your eLearning content to your mobile learners. While Adobe Captivate 8 has made authoring genuine mLearning for devices incredibly simple, there are a few new things to learn as you make the shift from authoring a single, static eLearning course to one that is just right for any device viewed from any orientation.

To help you get started, we (Allen and Pooja) have come up with a really cool workshop. We want to make sure that everyone who participates gets a chance to ask

questions and really master the basic content, so we’re limiting enrollment in the workshop. The good news is that we’re going to repeat the workshop a whole bunch of times so that lots of learning developers get a chance to dig a little deeper into the world of responsive mLearning.

You’ll get a warm up package a few days before the workshop so you can ensure that you are ready, and the workshop itself is hands on – you’ll get to follow along, perhaps even lead others as we demonstrate the basic steps of mLearning content creation. Please consider this a personal invitation to join us for one of these exciting sessions – available October – December. (Check the calendar via the link to find one that fits your schedule.) Below is the Seminar Description and link:

(All sessions are 90 minutes long, and don’t forget to clear a little time to go over the warm up materials a few days before the training. The session is FREE, naturally.)

Getting started with mLearning — A hands-on workshop

This is a hands on workshop. Participants will receive a warm up packet prior to the session and will be asked to prepare for live engagement as your guide Dr. Pooja Jaisingh and Dr. Allen Partridge will introduce the fundamental concepts of responsive design and mobile authoring using Adobe Captivate 8. The workshop will include a variety of relevant topics including; working with breakpoints, accommodating play bars, understanding inheritance, working with responsive text, images and shapes as well as responsive drag & drop and interactions. Learn to use GPS to create location based learning and more in this exciting 90 minute hands on workshop. These sessions will have limited enrollment, so be sure to sign up early.
