Can’t publish courses in Captivate CC 2017 after upgrading them from Captivate 7. Not trying for responsive courses at this point just HTML5 deliverable.
I have to upgrade over 210 projects to Captivate CC 2017 and publish them in HTML5 from Captivate 7. So far, they are not publishing in the new version with everything removed as per the HTML5 Tracker. All images and graphics that are off the slide are also removed. I can’t see what is preventing publishing. Can someone please suggest some ideas for me to check out? I have deleted slides one by one also. But doing that in every project will be a nightmare. I need to know what to look for that is causing the problem so I can quickly eliminate those situations. I would appreciate your feedback.
Thank you for your replys. I am trying to get administrator rights now. I don’t have it with this version. This course is so basic and dull I didn’t expect to have any problems at all. It only has a couple of advanced actions in it but other than that it has nothing but graphics and text boxes. It has questions of course MC, TF and Matching. I tried taking out the matching and publishing it once and it still didn’t publish. It has a slide with a buttons and I took that out and tried publishing it and again it didn’t publish. Those were the only slides that had things on them that were different. I cannot share the course because of the material it contains.
I hope this isn’t what I get to look forward to for all my projects. It is something that is big job I have before me as we are preparing for an LMS future. I may have to just publish in CP9 if I can’t publish in CP2017. I was able to do that. So I know it is a version issue.
There have been big changes since CP7. I wonder if this is not linked with the changes to the themes between CP7 and CP2017. Some effects do indeed not work properly in HTML output. Effects listed in the Timing panel of CP2017 are supported for HTML output, the ones stored in the Gallery\Other Effects are not supported.
Do you Run Captivate as Admininstrator? That functionality feels like more needed now than in previous versions for publishing. Is the path used for publishing on your system?
If the objects are getting listed under the HTML5 tracker, that means those objects or the animations used on those objects are not supported for HTML output. You may try to remove the animations/effects used from those objects.
Would you be able to share any sample project so I may take a look?
