Thanks for the link. I just went with advanced actions and text boxes.
With hide/show actions based on the result of the system variable cpQuizInfoPassFail? That is OK, as long as you take into account that the embedded objects (like the Review area) are always stacked above the custom objects (like your text containers). Moreover, if you work with a Fluid Boxes project you have more issues.

Breaks are a problem, those default message containers are meant for very short messages. A workaround could be to convert the text into an image and use an image. Will post a link to a blog post where I explain how to replace text feedback by image feedback.
