Drag and Drop Auto Submit Correct Answers with Object Action “Show” – will it work?

Using Captivate 2019 11.5.0.476 – I have a Drag and Drop interaction where I want to Auto Submit Correct Answers and go to the next slide/continue On Success. I also want to show an item (visibility hidden upon entry) as each answer is placed on the correct target. I set it up using Object Actions “Show” for each drop target, and it appears to work properly…however, it won’t move to the next slide after the answers are all placed. I’ve tried it with and without “Continue Playing the Project” checked.

Can what I propose be done in this way. Thoughts on settings I might be missing? I appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Dawn

Thanks, Lieve. I didn’t realize I wasn’t on the latest version. Thanks for the advice about Continue Playing project and multistate objects, I will try both of these. I have audio for the slide and the audio was pausing at 1.5 seconds, so I did set the pause to be at the end of the audio. Is that an issue? Are you aware of a good resource explaining all things slide and interaction timing (I never fully understood the in and outs and inter-dependencies of timing).

I have lot of blog posts about the Timeline, which is the number 1 on my list of newbie stumbling blocks. It is rarely included in any training for some reason, which I don’t understand at all.

You’ll find links to those blog posts in this article:

First of all, please UPDATE to 11.5.1.499. You are still on the very first release, cannot remember which bugs were fixed very soon with a patch update. Use Help, Updates.

For the Object actions you should never use ‘Continue playing the project’, because that would release the playhead after the first Object action. Each D&D slide is by default paused at 1.5secs,  but you may have changed that pausing point. I would have preferred a multistate object with an empty Normal State instead of Hide/Show. Hope your showing objects are not overlapping with any drag source nor drop target.

Did you check the dialog box ‘Correct Answers’?
