Hei,

i want to publish a .cptx-file as an executable. When I use the standard way (Adobe Captivate 8, Flash Player 10), you can only start the executable with administrator rights. I want to publish it for standard user without admin-rights.
Is this possible? I open for suggsteions

Thank you in advance

Nelson

HTML output by definition needs to be on a webserver or a LMS.  At least you’ll need it until you can download the ‘site’ which is possible, but I am not sure all features will be available since Captivate output (which is a site in HTML) is largely interactive. Only output to passive video (mp4) could be downloaded but you’ll lose all interactivity of course.

Sorry, but isn’t it bit outdated to publish to EXE? I am asking this because EXE output is based on SWF technology. It means that it can only be watched by learners who still have Flash Player installed.

You are indeed on a rather old version (we are now on 11.8) but I just wanted to send this warning. The appropriate way to give access to all learners is to publish your course to HTML5 and upload it to a webserver, provide the URL to the learners.

Thanky you for your reply. I didnt know, that executables are based on SWF which are based on Flash Player. Of course I want to get rid of Flash Player, but I also want to have a handy file, which I can download and click on to start the training (without access to webserver/internet). Is HTML the best way for it?
Meanwhile I switched to Captivate 11.
