Something went wrong while content block insertion

With the new Captivate, I am getting this error when I try to add a block to a blank slide:  “Something went wrong while content block insertion”.  I just installed the new release.  Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I wanted to ask if you have been in the prerelease and forgot to remove the Preferences and Assets folder as was required for each new install. But… was hesitating because prelease meant a NDA contract. I am always very cautious.

For Mac users, the Public documents are in the Shared files folder.

Lieve,

Yes, thank you, and I appreciate the caution.  I am the same way.  With the product released it is good to be able to discuss these items.  Thanks always for your good support and responses!

I learned that this is likely the result of having a previous version of Captivate 2023 installed.  The notes I found said to remove the Preferences and Libraries folders from the following directories:

C:UsersPublicDocumentsAdobeeLearning Assets12.0
C:UsersPublicDocumentsAdobeAdobe Captivate

Under Windows 11, this seems to be the correct paths:

C:UsersPublic DocumentsAdobeeLearning Assets12.0
C:UsersPublic DocumentsAdobeAdobe Captivate

My steps to fix were:

  1. Uninstall Captivate 2023, if installed.
  2. Remove the directories indicated above.
  3. Reinstall Captivate 2023.

This fixed the problem for me.
