Continue button on Quiz Results slide doesn’t work
(4)

I am using the new Captivate and have built a course with a quiz.

My quiz is set to Pass Required. If I fail the quiz, the Quiz Results slide has a Continue button. This button doesn’t work if I didn’t pass the quiz, and there’s no way to add a Retake/Retry Quiz button.

I have tested this both in Preview and in SCORM Cloud.

Thank you in advance for any help/suggestions!

Thank you, Lieve! Very helpful. I also do not like that the interactions have moved from Quiz Preferences to the Results slide, but thankful that you’ve pointed that out.

You’re welcome. I am frustrated a lot about lack of good documentation. At least Captivate Classic has gotten a lot of helpful assets everywhere, which due to being it so ‘young’ is not the case for CP2023.

I rarely ask for this, but multiple users have already asked similar questions about the Continue button on the score slide. Could you please mark my answer as being correct? Maybe that could help other users struggling with the same issue?

I think you are pointing to the now labeled ‘Mandate’ field in Quiz Preferences?

In previous versions there were often problems with that strict setting of Pass Required. Just for testing purpose, could you set the Mandate field back to ‘Optional’? It doesn’t solve everything,

Number or Quiz attempts, Pass/Fail action and presence of the Retake button are no longer to be found under Quiz Preferences, but in the Interaction panel of the Results slide. I don’t like that, because when you have scored objects the Results slide is not inserted automatically. I suspect that the execution of the Pass/fail actions is still linked to clicking the Continue button.

More exploration: the default actions for Pass/Fail are now ‘Go to Next Slide’. This is only possible when you have at least one slide after the Results slide. That is the reason for the warning sign (missing input) which appears if the Results slide is the last slide in the project. I still have to find out what happens when you hide the Results slide.
