Learning Management Systems (LMS) help you administer, track monitor, and report users’ interactions with your courses. Adobe Captivate lets you create SCORM-and-AICC-compliant courses that you can deploy on various LMSs. This blog post summarizes the steps involved in making your Captivate courses work with LMSs. Step 1. Configure your Captivate projects for your LMS Here’s a video tutorial (3:25) that shows how to configure a project for the SCORM cloud LMS:
Photography is one of my hobbies and I’m sure it’s the same with some of you reading this post. When I thought of creating some content in HTML5 for my iPad, the first thing that crossed my mind was Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3. I not only appreciate it but have also seen a lot of my photographer friends use it. So, here I go with my venture to create tutorials on basics of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3… 🙂
We’ve just released a new patch for Adobe Captivate 5. This patch contains a new feature, and a few bug fixes. The issues fixed in this patch are: LMS An AICC-compliant Adobe Captivate course does not launch successfully if the web server on which the course is hosted, and the LMS, which is used to track to course, are on different domains. When a SCORM-compliant course is launched, the SWF file hangs at the loading screen. In a SCORM-compliant course, […]
This week we welcome back to the team eLearning Evangelist R.J. Jacquez – and R.J.’s first contribution is a great short video on YouTube: All about working in full screen mode in AdobeCaptivate. Proving yet again that Adobe Captivate goes way beyond Screen Capture, R.J. gives us a nice overview of how easy it can be to work in full screen mode. You can always view the latest Adobe Captivate and eLearning Suite Tutorials on YouTube at the Adobe eLearning […]
A reminder- the Captivate 5 ACE exams are available for registration and the first date you can take the exam is Feb 10th . Many of you might have already signed up for the Captivate 5 ACE exam. Since this will take another couple of days, I’ve reproduced this below. Good luck, and […]
We recently updated the eLearning channel on AdobeTV with seven new shows, containing close to 40 new episodes. Most of these are tutorials created for Adobe Captivate 5 and eLearning Suite. The tutorial videos cover both the new and pre-existing features of Captivate. They also discuss the new UI and workflows in detail. Mark Fletcher, our community expert, has done a wonderful job in creating these videos. The videos are tagged and organized by Captivate function; And also allow you […]
This blog post provides information on troubleshooting problems with installing Adobe Captivate 5.0 patch. You have updated the index.html file in the tutorials folder to fix tutorial issues earlier and patch installation fails. Roll back to the old version of index.html (located at <Installation_folder>/CP_Tutorials/). If you do not have an old version of the index.html file, download it from this link. Install the patch again. Patch installation fails and Captivate doesn’t launch. Uninstall Captivate. Install Captivate 5 (build 596) again […]

We know that ‘Advanced Actions’ help you develop dynamic content rapidly. I would like to add few tips on Advanced Actions in this tutorial. Probably most of you would already have found these workarounds/hacks. Let me take you through the topics that are covered in this tutorial. How to compare a variable with an empty string? How to mix ‘Standard Actions’ and ‘Conditional Actions’? How to compare a variable with an empty string? Say in your course, on the first […]
We had a great time at this week’s eSeminar, where the focus was on creating custom learning interactions using Adobe Captivate 5’s new Advanced Actions tools. This one is fairly advanced as Captivate authoring goes, but if you’ve had a little exposure to Captivate now I’d encourage you to have a look. The tools provided manage to be both very simple to use, and very powerful options to extend the functions normally available. The OnDemand recording of the eSeminar is […]
One of the most requested features in Adobe Captivate was the ability to store the course results on the local servers or database. I’d like to see us make August Captivate 5 Mastery Month. I’ve been inspired by wonderful recent articles created and posted to the Adobe Community Help by members of the Community like this recent contribution from Lilybiri. With hundreds of thousands of Captivate users and virtually all of them predisposed to developing eLearning, I’d want to challenge you, yes you, to create a tip, a tutorial, a handy use case or other tidbit to share with the broader Captivate Community.
