Print Handouts – Slide Notes are missing
June 14, 2018

I upgraded to Captivate 2017 recently and I now have a problem that I can’t for the life of me figure out what is going on. I need a printout that includes the slide notes. Each of my training modules have voice overs. I include the voice over text in “notes”, this way I can print out a hand out, and folks can read the script of the module. With this upgraded version though, I cannot for the life of me figure out why most of the notes are missing from the printout! Below is a screenshot of what I have selected when I choose to print this out, as well as screenshots of word and captivate side by side comparisons. In one screenshot, you can see the notes show up in word, in another screenshot you see they don’t.

Please help!

Hi, I was having the same issue in Captivate 2017 and 2019. I followed victoriat36204314’s instructions with one more step. Before I printed, I viewed each slide in Captivate – just kept pressing the Page Down key to show each one. Then, when I printed, I chose No at the prompt to open now. I then opened Word, File/Open and opened the printed document and the slide notes were there. I followed these steps in Captivate 2019.

I am having this same issue. Both of my CP versions (2017 and 2019) are updated to the latest patch and I still cannot print successfully with slide notes. I have also tried it as an Admin.

Hi there,
Using windows 10, update is not there but seeing some of the problems others have had as a result of updating, I think I am going to pass, and I am not an administrator for this work computer, so that is not an option either.

At any rate, I found the solution by accident. When I select to print the training, it runs it thing and then it offers that it is done and “would you like to open it now?”. Normally I select yes, and this is where it is not working correctly. HOWEVER, recently, I selected no, and then went to go get it in the directory myself, and when I opened it, all the pieces were there as expected.

Rather wonky if you ask me, but oh well. I got it to work.
