What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Multiple Failure messages for Drag&Drop KC slide

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Mute Audio Upon Re-Enter

I cannot not find the training video so I think it was done in the Captivate class itself – but I need help on how to mute the audio on a slide. I want the audio to play upon entering. There are six buttons, which after selected branch out and then come back to the original slide for another button to be selected. When the user comes back – I don’t want the audio to play anymore – only upon […]

Slides randomly showing phantom buttons

Hello! I’m new to Captivate and am finding that as I go back to preview my module, I am finding random “phantom” buttons on previous slides. I’ve attached an example. I did not add a submit button on this slide, and it’s not on the timeline at all. I cannot figure out how to remove it. It’s quite frustrating! Any ideas?

How to motivate a cohort of learners

Gamification in a Learning Program is recommended for large groups of learners who are brought into the LMS specifically for an assigned training spread over a lengthy time period. Award points for speed as well as higher achievement and additional learning to ensure achievements are not just about starting and completing Learnings. Use gamification in a Learning Program to motivate a cohort of learners to engage, compete, and complete training in a timely and comprehensive manner.

Start button in HTML% – moving it

My problem was the Start screen in HTNL5 output, but learnt how to hide it, use another button and solve the problem with the dimming of the screen picture, reading the post from Lieve Waymeis. Thank you. But a problem remains regarding the button at the start screen (in HTML): Does antone know a way to move the button? Having it in the middle of the screen isn’t always good for the picture used on the page. If there is […]

Visited state issue in bookmarking using js var

Special Characters Publishing Problem

Hi! I’m hoping someone in Adobe or in public reads and has a fix for this issue that we’ve encountered. When I’m making training’s in Captivate, the publish process throws off the slide project preview into an infinite pre-loading loop. Not allowing the slide to preview. Removing the special characters allows it to work normally. In my case the following special character usage of ‘fi-shiŋ gives this slide preview error. Is there a fix for this? This is a cause for […]
