What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

However, if anyone can recommend any books that were of great help to you and Captivate, let me know! Currently, I have a few in my Amazon cart but just not sure which would be good. Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Multiple Failure messages for Drag&Drop KC slide

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Adobe Certified Professional – Adobe Captivate – how to renew?

I received my ‘Adobe Certified Professional – Adobe Captivate’ badge last year (I had taken the certification a year prior, but then I had to re-take the exam last year when they included Captivate in the ACP program). Today I just noticed that the badge has expired. I cannot find any information on renewing this certification. Has anyone here gone through recertification? Do you know if there is a new test, or do we have to take the same test […]

Text to Speech Trademark in Audio

I am using Captivate 11.5.5.678 on a Mac with Big Sur 11.3.1. I am aware of some if the issues with Mac but the version of Captivate I am using seems to work aside from voice-to-text. The first instance I use a voice in a project it is fine, all the other have unintelligible words followed by, “unregistered trademark,” then it will begin the copy I entered. I have tried uninstalling the voices and reinstalling them with no change. Is […]

Reactivating expired SCORM package remotely

I received a SCORM package demo from a vendor that had an active expiration date to view. So, I uploaded the SCORM package to our organization’s LMS. After the SCORM package expired, I asked the vendor if it was possible to extend the expiration date, and they were able to do so without me replacing the file. They did it remotely. Does anyone know how to do so in Adobe Captivate?

Delayed Next Button Appear Immediately on Your Captivate Slide Revisits

In this video, I show you how to have your next button appear immediately when your learner revisits a slide where the appearance of the next button is delayed until all the content on the slide has played. This tutorial uses a simple advanced action and if you plan on using this technic on multiple slides you can save it as a shared action and use it over and over again.

HTML5 Import

I’m new to Captivate, so please excuse my ignorance. I’m trying to import HTML5 ‘slides’ that have been exported from an LMS (non-SCORM or xAPI compliant).  Each slide is a discrete file that represents one page in a lesson. I’m struggling to see a way of achieving this.  Is it possible; if so what do I need to do? Thanks
