Big Sur (macOS 11) update for Adobe Captivate (2019 release) is here!
Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from. I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action. I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]
Hi Everybody, I have just published a test HTML5 question slide in Adobe Captivate 10 with a small format of 320 by 500 px. I disabled the player controls and put it on my server. I than opened it on my iPhone. It looks good, but the slide is basically published in a sort of iFrame. So i Can pinch and zoom within this frame, does anybody know a way to publish without this extra frame around the content? Hope my explanation […]
Intro Shared actions were a new feature in Captivate 7 several years ago. They were improved with Captivate 8. I never understood why almost no one talks about them, even self-labeled experts seem never to use them. This is a real pity because their power is much underestimated. In most projects I open an external library (have a look at Internal and External Libraries) which has frequently used shared actions. It saves me a lot of time in each project. I […]

I have this as slide 2 of a project and the Review & Lab buttons jump to other slides, and then those are directed back to this slide. I do not want the transparent “Click here to skip to quiz” button to show until the learner comes back to this page a second or subsequent time. Essentially, I only want it hidden on the first visit to the page, but any time the user comes back around to it, […]
I am using Adobe Captivate 9 and uploading a SCORM into the Litmos LMS platform. When the SCORM is viewed on the Litmos mobile app on a Samsung Galaxy Note 5, I get the following message: “Adobe Captivate – This browser does on support some of the content in the file you are trying to view. Use one of the following browsers: Internet Explorer 9 or later, Safari 5.1 or later, Google Chrome 17 or later, Firefox undefined or later.” […]

I’m using the matching quiz type of question slide, where the user needs to click on a drop down menu to match with the correct asnwer. I’m having trouble with changing the colour of the text in the drop down itself. I’ve done some research already and it seems others are having this issue. Does any know how I can change the text colour in the drop down as it’s currently white, which is unreadable. I’m using version 8 of […]
