Big Sur (macOS 11) update for Adobe Captivate (2019 release) is here!
Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from. I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]
Hi, Can someone recommend JavaScript, HTML and CSS books for beginners that would be a best fit for Adobe Captivate? I keep researching but do not find anything in particular. However, if anyone can recommend any books that were of great help to you and Captivate, let me know! Currently, I have a few in my Amazon cart but just not sure which would be good. Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action. I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]
I have a number of questions to ask my learners that require a long answer and many different answers are correct. I would like for my learners’ answers to be sent via email or through an LMS to their supervisor to be checked, just so that the supervisor can be sure that the learner is taking in the information correctly. Is this possible, and if so, how?
I have created some courses to sell, and I need my customers to be able to go to the site and take the course. Do I have build a website? Or, is there a place that hosts courses under my name? If I do build a website, and I publish it, which I’ve tried, the HTML5 file shows the “localhost” term. Doesn’t that open up my computer for all to see?
Hello, Are we able to have an object or image in Captivate that users must click first before viewing the rest of the slide? For example, all the other content is greyed out until the user first clicks the colored item on the screen. Once the colored item on the screen is clicked, the greyed out items are then viewable (colored). Is this possible in Captivate? Thank you for the help and guidance. Chandra
Hi, when trying to open one of our projects it says “project has expired”. I read that this is due to the fact that it was created with a trial version. Ever since then I have upgraded to a subscription. I then published the project again with the subscribed version, however it still won’t work…any advice?
I recently upgraded from Captivate 9 to Captivate 2017, and discovered that I no longer have the add/edit hyperlink icon in the Properties window for my text captions. My existing hyperlinks in my project seem to work, but I can’t see or edit the URLs and I can’t add any new hyperlinks. Has anyone seen this before? I am using Windows 10.
Help!!! I just found that flash is not supported…what is the workaround to publish then? Is there an update to Captivate 9. I have a training that I need to get out. When I try to publish to HTML only I get the message: Count Not Copy Folder to …assets. What is the assets folder? Is this a folder that I need to create? Thank you for your time.

Hi, I’m new to Captivate & have been experimenting with typing in slide notes and then using the Text to Audio (Text to speech) feature rather than narrating the slides myself. However I am finding that the automated voice recording is snipping off the a little bit of the first word when you play it back. Has anyone else found this & is there a way of fixing it? Thanks in advance Liz
