What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

JavaScript Book Recommendation

Hi, Can someone recommend JavaScript, HTML and CSS books for beginners that would be a best fit for Adobe Captivate? I keep researching but do not find anything in particular. However, if anyone can recommend any books that were of great help to you and Captivate, let me know! Currently, I have a few in my Amazon cart but just not sure which would be good. Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Multiple Failure messages for Drag&Drop KC slide

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Accessibility Not Working for Multi-State Button

We have four multi-state buttons on a page that the learner must select one to hear a story. I named each button in the accessibility option for the initial state and the visited. After all four buttons have been clicked and all four stories heard, the learner then can click next to advance to the next section of the project. To give an example the first multi-state button is described:  Liang Incomplete in the Accessibility tab. Then in the visited […]

SCORM will not upload to LMS or SCORM Cloud

For some reason a SCORM will not upload to my LMS. I also cannot upload it to my SCORM Cloud library although the project can be previewed directly in SCORM Cloud from Captivate 2019. I suspect that there must be a problem with the SCORM. When I first exported it I saw an error in CP2019 so I closed the project, cleared the cache, reopened then exported it without a problem. Does anyone have a solution? Perhaps I will have […]

Resize Open Project Export

Hi everyone, My client wants to have control over how much space the open Captivate export takes up on her desktop. She’s a PC user and says that when she opens the project, she has no control over how large it is. She can’t click and drag from the corner to resize the project. I’m creating on Mac so I don’t have that issue (I can click and drag from the corner fine). She also does not want it to […]

Good News for Captivate Canucks

Some good news for Canadian eLearning professionals…

Need to turn off ‘automatically reduce slide duration’ checkbox

Anyone out there know how to do this, I cannot find any global setting to turn this off. This item is part of the multi-side editor, as its name implies once you save your changes in the multi-slide editor it will force all your slides to reduce in length to the video segment of each slide. This is very handy, except in cases where it isn’t. In my project I use a multistate object as a next slide button placed […]

White Spaces and Mouse Slows down in Demo Video 2019

Hello,

I recorded Four Demo Videos in AC 2017 and Opened them in 2019 and there are white spaces within the video and the mouse slows down and then speed back up.

Any idea as to why this is happening and how to correct this. I’m on a time crunch and unable to re-record the videos as there were complete in AC 2017.

I’m hoping someone would be able to shed some light on this issue.

Many thanks!

Nelda
