Big Sur (macOS 11) update for Adobe Captivate (2019 release) is here!
Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from. I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]
Hi, Can someone recommend JavaScript, HTML and CSS books for beginners that would be a best fit for Adobe Captivate? I keep researching but do not find anything in particular. However, if anyone can recommend any books that were of great help to you and Captivate, let me know! Currently, I have a few in my Amazon cart but just not sure which would be good. Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action. I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Using the trial version of captivate v12, is it possible to import a CSV quiz file like in captivate classic trial? If so, how? There is no longer a “Quiz” menu.
In the New Captivate, it appears the image hotspots placement are set as relative to the entire widget holder, not the image within it. When I resize the playback window, the hotspots ‘slide’ off the image or far away from their original location, even when the image itself is not resized. How can I ensure the hot spots stay aligned to the actual image, and not entire widget holder? I have also seen where the browser adds a scroll to […]
I may be missing it, but how do I see all the assets used in my project in the New Captivate? I see where I can remove all unused items (that does not remove them), but I cannot locate where I can see all assets used and easily reuse them, instead of having to add them from my system storage each time I need it.

I was curious if anyone has a way to audit a large amount of Captivate files for key words? For context, an example would be if I have 57 lessons I need to audit for the word “crisis” in order to substitute it for the word, “predicament”. The current method is extremely tedious and time consuming – going through each file individually and checking for the specific text. My initial thought was possibly exploring AI to scan for key words, […]
Our team has been using Articulate 3 but it’s at it’s end of life. So I’ve been looking at Captivate. I have used the old version and didn’t like it, but it looks like the new version has had things taken out? What has been taken out? How in-depth is it? It looks all very surface level to me. Can you include things like variables and triggers like Articulate? Could I setup a template with company colours, fonts etc so […]
I’m fairly new to this product, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to ensure users scroll to the bottom of a PDF BEFORE they can proceed to the next slide. I’ve tried everything but I’m not sure if it can even be done here, if that’s a PDF edit or even beyond that. What little I could find in research mentioned a Javascript, but again, I’m not sure if that’s definite or not. I appreciate ANY help or guidance.
