What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

However, if anyone can recommend any books that were of great help to you and Captivate, let me know! Currently, I have a few in my Amazon cart but just not sure which would be good. Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Multiple Failure messages for Drag&Drop KC slide

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Slide specific playbar in captivate

Is there a way to define playbar designs specific to slides (not talking about custom playbar buttons) rather than the same playbar functions for the entire project?

Save your organisation LMS cost

When I was asked to create a simple but impressive RPA video demo, I counter requested a market standard video editing software over traditional PowerPoint. Post approvals, I was directed to browse and propose the intended software, and after comparing Adobe Captivate and TechSmith Camtasia, I chose the former going by the brand value and have not regretted the decision since. What started as a video demo and software simulation development initially, slowly but steadily increased my curiosity to explore […]

HTML5 vs SWF: how do I create a project that will work on all devices with limited LMS

I am a novice Captivate user, looking to create a learning path for my students without access to a LMS (my school district only allows us to use Google Classrooms). I am ready to pay out of pocket for a Captivate license, but I have some concerns. 1. will I be able to share my project easily? 2. what will happen to my project when students try to follow on a device that does not support SWF? will it completely […]

Publishing HTML5 to SharePoint (from a Microsoft Teams Site) not working

Is the SharePoint site built into teams different than regular SharePoint? I am not seeing the Explorer bar in this SharePoint. Thanks HR

5 Approaches to Consider While Transitioning from ILT to Fully Self-paced Virtual Training

On account of the ongoing pandemic, employers are responding by changing their work paradigms to embrace greater work-from-home models. In the context of this new reality, where physical distance between learners and instructors is the hallmark, Virtual Training offers the ideal solution. In this Infographic, we showcase 5 approaches to consider while transitioning from ILT to fully self-paced Virtual Training. The journey from ILT to VILT […]

Captivate Drag&Drop Functionality: Does not work on iPad with iOS 13 and Safari or Firefox !!!

We noticed that the drag-and-drop functionality does not work on iPads with iOS 13 and the two browsers Safari and Firefox. The drag objects cannot be moved. The drag & drop question cannot be solved. This is particularly problematic because, in our case, the learner cannot continue with e-learning. Draggin works fine on Chrome and Edge. Hopefully the problem will be fixed in iOS 14! I would be very grateful if someone has more information on the problem (or even […]

Drag and Drop Canada Colouring Book

A viewer on my YouTube channel wanted to make a colouring book for kids. I decided to see if this could be done with a drag and drop. Drag the coloured pencils to the sections of the Canadian flag to change the colours. Preview the project here: Download the CPTX file: Canada Colouring Book

Lundberck Falls -walk through

Another experiment using the GoPro Fusion and Adobe Captivate. Very simple, just slides with complementary images (almost no text). It took me 15 minutes to put this together. Hopefully we start seen the potential with this format.

I know we can get certified in Captivate but is the Adobe Certified Professional still available?

Merchant Accounts and Captivate Prime

Last time I evaluated trying to sell my training using Captivate Prime it did not appear to be easy.  Have there been any improvements in this area?  I would buy it immediately if I could get over this hurdle.  Thanks! Brian
