Big Sur (macOS 11) update for Adobe Captivate (2019 release) is here!
Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from. I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action. I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]
Drag and Drop: We have kept 3 Drop areas and 5 Drag areas. For this, we have created 5 variables for Drop1 and 5 variables for Drop2 then Drop3. 15 Variables are used here is to differentiate, since if we drop one element, it should not overwrite the other element. We have used states to identify the Dragged element. Advanced Actions: We have created each variable with literal False. Once if we dropped the element in Drop1, we have assigned […]
I added arrows to enter on a screen and they won’t show when I preview or publish the file. Any thoughts? I also synced to my voice audio and that doesn’t work either.
Congratulations Obi-Wan. You’ve completed your Jedi mission and rolled out your learning management system! Now what? The party isn’t over my friend. Now it’s time to develop your ongoing project plan for the LMS. The goal is to put together a list of everything you want to do to enhance the learner experience within your LMS. You want your learning technology platform to constantly update and improve. You will constantly be adding new course content, new interface elements, and better […]
Hi, I have created a multiple choice question with 4 choices. Choosing the correct answer will show the correct answer feedback text along with the learner hearing correct answer audio. If the user chooses an incorrect answer they see incorrect feedback text along with hearing incorrect answer audio. I also have slide audio. Currently, when the user selects a multiple choice answer and selects the submit button they do see the corresponding feedback text and they do hear the corresponding […]

I used Image zoom widget in one slide. After publish in HTML5. This zoom widget not working in Chrome browser. Other browsers are working. What I do to solve this issue.
I have built an advanced action that uses a variable to change the state of a shape and to hide/show some links based upon the value of the variable. The advanced action is executed each time the “Continue” button is selected. The variable (v_introCntr) starts with a value of 0 and the first action in the Advanced Action increments the variable by 1. From there I have a series of “If” statements that check the value of the variable and […]
I have a dilemma, but first some background info about my project: 1- I am not able to stream video or use youtube as a host, so I must insert my video into the project. 2- I have created custom controls for my project audio and video objects (I am not using a captivate player skin). Here-in lies my problem, I need both closed captions and volume control for my video. If I insert an event video, the video has […]
I am using the 2017 release. I have three buttons on my slide that i want the learner to click on and hear the audio. Only after the learner listens to all three buttons do I want the navigation buttons to appear. I can’t simply time the icons to appear because the learner might delay in listening to the icons. The icons need to appear automatically only after each button is listened to. Any suggestions?
I have a multi state object to show info when someone clicks on buttons on the slide. I also have an image and a text caption that is supposed to show for a specific time on the slide. These last two items are not showing up in preview mode. Any ideas?
What is similar and what is different between Knowledge Check slides and Quiz slides? Which system variables can be used on KC slides? Some (tweaking) tips.
I am creating a screen cast assessment, where I want to the learner to pass on how accurately they’ve remembered a set process. I have one ‘correct’ click box per screen which is scored to a variable called click_counter. To capture random clicks I have a further click box which covers the entire screen beneath the ‘correct’ click box. This box is also incrementing click_counter. I have successfully set up custom result screen which go where they should depending on […]
