Let us take a deep breath first! If we have overused our superlatives in describing any previous contests on this forum, we will like to take it back, and place it here, as what we have witness in these last few weeks on elearning.adobe.com/projects page was nothing short of a phenomenon. This has also left our judges in a tizzy in scoring easily, due to the sheer professional quality of projects that all have created through the Adobe Captivate authoring […]
Big Sur (macOS 11) update for Adobe Captivate (2019 release) is here!
Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from. I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]
Hi, Can someone recommend JavaScript, HTML and CSS books for beginners that would be a best fit for Adobe Captivate? I keep researching but do not find anything in particular. However, if anyone can recommend any books that were of great help to you and Captivate, let me know! Currently, I have a few in my Amazon cart but just not sure which would be good. Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action. I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]
I recently did a webinar called, “15 Ways to Market Your Training Program & Learning Tech.” (Here is the recording and slide deck.) The session covers a lot in 60 minutes so I thought it would be good to do a complementary blog series. The first few posts will focus on engaging the long distance learner. Most organizations these days have at least some employees working remotely. There are many benefits to working outside of the office, but it definitely adds […]
I’m trying to create an Organizational Chart using Adobe Captivate 2017, can any one help me how to create a clickable visual objects for showing any type of additional information
If you design or develop eLearning content, you’ve likely run into issues displaying content on multiple devices, such as desktop computers, tablets and smartphones. For example, a really nice graphic may display well on a laptop, but look too small or be cut off on a smartphone. Authoring packages that generate “responsive” content have solved the issue of displaying on different devices by allowing the content to rearrange itself based on the type of device. The advantage is that you […]
Hello, we are trying to use the Software Simulation feature on our web based software. I am not able to get any of the clicks or pages we go to in the window. After I run through the process which has probably 10 clicks and three separate screens all I get is the final screen, on any of the four (demo, assessment, training or custom). So none of my actions are being recorded. This worked fine when I tried to […]
I’m used to zooming using the scroll wheel on my mouse. However, Captivate uses Ctrl+ and Ctr-. Is there a setting in preferences where I can enable zooming with the scroll wheel?
I’m editing a Demo Simulation created with Captivate 9 for a responsive project using breakpoints. I was able to adjust the position of the background graphic (or the position of viewed area of the graphic), but I can’t position it precisely. As a result, the background “jumps” between slides. Is there an option to precisely position the background graphic for a simulation, for example, set the position of the graphic to 100,100 for two successive slides?
I have a question about how to prevent objects from moving on a project after publishing the file in HTML5. I recently developed a project in Captivate 8 and Captivate 2017. When I publish as a .swf file the objects stay where they are placed. When I publish the file as HTML5, the objects move a couple of pixels to the left. Is there a setting that prevents this from happening?
This is what I see: All of the documentation and support videos (thanks Paul Wilson!) say that I should see a trim button and two “guides” or “shapes” indicating start and stop. I don’t see these in my instance of Captivate 2017. I have clicked and right-clicked every possible place but no hope. How do I force Captivate into displaying the trim features so I can use them? Thank you. David
Hi I am using Captivate 2017 and a team member is using Captivate 9. Can I share my 2017 course for her to view on Captivate 9? We seem to be having problems doing. Please help!
Would like to make a button that, whenn clicked and keep pressed, wil result in a number going up. Releasing the button would have to stop the action. i guess JS would be the only solution? But how?
I can’t believe we’re already scheduling classes for September… 🙂 My new webinar is inspired by Adobe’s white paper by the same name. (Clicking the link will download a PDF of the paper.) Check out page three for useful L&D studies and resources. I’ve put my own spin on the white paper and created a webinar that focuses on practical ways to deploy and support mobile learning by utilizing a learning technology platform. The class level will be appropriate for those fairly […]
