Big Sur (macOS 11) update for Adobe Captivate (2019 release) is here!
Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from. I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]
Hi, Can someone recommend JavaScript, HTML and CSS books for beginners that would be a best fit for Adobe Captivate? I keep researching but do not find anything in particular. However, if anyone can recommend any books that were of great help to you and Captivate, let me know! Currently, I have a few in my Amazon cart but just not sure which would be good. Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action. I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]
In Captivate 2023, how can the user retake a test if they failed the test? How can I set the test to pass at 70 percent?
In this video, I show beginners how to work with text, images, and button blocks to create excellent yet simple eLearning slides for your All-new Adobe Captivate projects.
I have recently had our IT department re-install Captivate, it went from version 11.8.1.219 (2019) to version 11.8.2.254 and is called Captivate classic? The UI is slightly different (not too much of an issue) but I am unable to preview in HTML with any file created, new or old? We have tried reverting to 11.5.5 but in this case I am unable to open any files previously created (known problem). My colleagues can open my files on their machines running […]
For decades eLearning developers have often turned to Microsoft PowerPoint to facilitate the creation of both slides to supplement a live face to face or virtual lecture, and to serve as the base for an online eLearning course. The latest release of Adobe Captivate both supports and doesn’t support the import of PowerPoint. (Adobe has released two versions of Captivate (one called Captivate Classic, and the other called the All-New Adobe Captivate.) Powerpoint import is supported in Captivate Classic, and […]
This article discusses the importance of measuring the impact of social learning. It focuses on the many benefits that can be gained by remaining disciplined in quantifying the impact.
I am trying to upload Captivate HTML5 files to our company LMS (Incite) with no luck. It publishes fine, uploads fine, but when actually accessing it, it just stays on a loading screen, or what comes up is missing components, its moved and distorted etc. What would cause this? Is it a publish setting I need to adjust? Or is it the LMS? (was assured its Captivate compatible)
The world really does just keep spinning faster, at least the world of modern business. The demand to develop more courses, more content and do so at a higher quality is unbelievably high. Many times over the past few years I have heard learning leaders with Fortune 100 companies telling me that they were forced to deliver complete courses in well under a week. Some have told me that the expected shelf life of these courses can easily be under […]

Edit Presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint
I have converted PPT slides with voice over. I don’t want the next slide button to appear until close to the end of the audio. I tried setting timing for that button to ‘Appear After’ and set the time close to the length of the audio playback. I have it selected to display for Rest of Slide. One or two slides this worked for but not on the vast majority. How can I accomplish my goal? Do I need to […]
