What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

The Trouble With Inconsistency

When my oldest child was around two, we’d play a bit of a game. His environment was a highly prepared one: clean, organized, and thematically arranged. When he napped, I’d often swap the locations of two toys or put a novel object on a shelf with a familiar one. Each time, he noticed immediately and was drawn to the change. Developmental psychologists have noted in several studies that children employ this sort of world-focused attention. They pay attention to everything […]

A First time User’s honest review of Adobe Captivate

Adobe Captivate is an eLearning authoring and course design tool (or LCMS). It supports mobile HTML5 content and SCORM for an eLearning platform. In the past, Captivate’s users  were commonly mid-size companies. However, these days, it is become a valuable tool for schools and for self-employed tutors, who are looking to create courses that have  functionality and interactive  tools to excel the learning experience of their users.  My story As an self-employed tutor, the idea of creating an interactive course […]

Help! Slide videos won’t play more than a couple of seconds

I am using a MacBookPro and Captivate 2019 11.5.5.678. I have inserted a video into one of the slides, a slide video (youtube). The duration of the slide is the duration of the video and when I play the video in the timeline it plays fine when I preview the project (HTML 5 in browser) the video only plays for a couple of seconds. I have checked a previous project with a video that plays for the full duration and […]

My first experience with Adobe Captivate 2019

Adobe Captivate 2019, really surprised me. I  was looking for ways to build my courses for my classes, which is  simple to create, yet interactive to excel my student’s learning experience. After many and I mean many different types of software, I tried  with no success!  My school administrative, had suggested I try Adobe Captivate. In mins, I was creating beautiful, interactive colorful courses! Which I am very proud of! I highly recommend  Adobe products in general! But especially, adobe […]

captivate changes characters

I just added a scroll box to my Cp project. It worked well but since the Norwegian alphabet has three letters that are not found in the English alphabet, CP changes the letters to question marks when published. Is there any way to change this?
