What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Captivate and xAPI 101

My team is looking at the possibilities of moving toward xAPI from SCORM 2004. We are using Docebo as our LMS and am already impressed with the increase in reporting out of the box. But of course, we want to go further. Does anyone have experience developing for xAPI tracking in an LMS? Are you willing to share your code? This however does not seem to be a big topic in this form. I have seen a couple of questions […]

3D image rotate, zoom, hotspots

Hello, I would like to  embed a 3D image into my course, and allow the user to rotate/zoom the render and adding hotspots for the learner.. Just wondering if any one has done that in the past or you can point me in the right direction on how to do that. I am not sure which file format will work best. I am working on a safety training and I would like the learner to rotate the machine around to […]

Portfolio (Part Three – Content Organization)

Part Three will be a little longer since it has two parts – 1.) a summary and evaluation of that list created in Part One, and 2.) a starting point for how to organize content. This will undoubtedly see some revision as the content is added but should provide a good outline from which to build the portfolio.

Drop-down listbox

I’ve been trying to get the Drop down listbox to function in Captivate 2019.  I’ve declared variables, and set Advanced Actions for a condition to jump to a page number if the selected item is [x], but it doesn’t work. I’m getting pretty frustrated. I have seen how to make a hybrid listbox using boxes, but that doesn’t really help with rapid development.  Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
