What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Multiple Failure messages for Drag&Drop KC slide

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Seeking recommendations for hosting published HTLM5 captivate courses

I don’t have an LMS but am trying to roll out elearning.  I’ve used a Sharepoint home page to list courses and include links to launch courses.  Are there other  in-house options?  I don’t want to use an external host.

1620 x 992 Screen or use standard resolutions

Hi all. I have a field trainer that is capturing screen shots and video of our software and making a course in Captivate 2019. She has her story size set for 1620 x 992 because the software and images she is filming are 1595 x 785. (bottom border left for closed captioning). She is using a remote connection to our server as that is the way it is done and says the remote window cannot be resized. When we publish […]

Any specific major drawback in ‘Breakpoint Mode’ Responsive design

I develop projects with Break point Mode as well as with Fluid Boxes. Both have pro & cons. But, Captivate 2019, does not give direct option of creating a project using ‘Break point Mode’. There must be some reason in (Cp official developers)their mind. So my question is that only. Any major drawback in ‘Break point mode’ ? Or is it going to be fully removed in future version(similar to Flash, which is almost ignored now a days.) ?

Why won’t my You Tube video play after selecting the Auto Play through the You Tube Learning Interaction?

I have added a video to my Captivate project using the YouTube Learning Interaction. I selected the Auto Play check box; however, when I play the project and it gets to where the video is embedded within the project, I still have to click the Play button from YouTube to get the video to play.

Work sample/showcase

I am in the early stages of learning Adobe Captivate 2019. This specific project is just to show my working knowledge. There are no specific learning or teaching models implemented, just a few slides I created. All feedback is welcome. If you want to connect feel free.Let me know what you think.

PS. On the slide with the video, you have to press the play button on the bottom left corner.

Smart shape as Background in Responsive project

In Captivate manual, there is one sentence with reference to the BreakPoint mode … “…. Set one smart shape as a background image in Responsive project and you are allowed to set crop area for the background image in different views….” I could not find how to set “Smart shape as background” and secondly, how that smartshape is related to the background image ? also I could not find croping of the Background image(as written in that sentence)” Help would be […]

Convert large screen PPT to Adobe

Hello, The PPT documents I am working on have a (16:9) format, which corresponds to a larger size than the standard format (4:3). When I want to import them to Adobe Captivate, it doesn’t match : the presentation is not well-looking and words are missing. Is it possible to keep the (16:9) format and import these PPT documents to the software ? Thank you in advance for your answers.

SCORM course very slow

I created and published a SCORM using Captivate and uploaded it on our LMS. I have received some concerns that few colleagues are either not able to access the course or some of its contents or the course is exponentially slow to load for them. This is fixed when they access the course using VPN. It sounds like there is a network issue here but are there any other insights you can give me? I can also post my Captivate publish […]

HTML preview/output not working

Dear Adobe Community, Currently my html preview/output is not working and I wonder if you can help me with that. Yesterday I updated an old non-responsive design project which had been working fine so far. I added some more in build states to multistate objects (clicked state) and some advanced actions to also change the state of these buttons if slides had been visited on entry. Apart from that I only changed some Smart Objects and some minor stuff like […]

If I publish thes presenatation as SCORM the animations don’t work anymore. Is there the possibility to publish the file so that the animations work? Aim is it to display the file as a ppsx (powerpoint screen presentation) in our LMS. Thanks for your help! Franzi
