What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

However, if anyone can recommend any books that were of great help to you and Captivate, let me know! Currently, I have a few in my Amazon cart but just not sure which would be good. Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Multiple Failure messages for Drag&Drop KC slide

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Adobe Captivate – Free Trial to Complimentary Service?

I’m new to Adobe Captivate and have a free 30-day trial currently. I’m trying to work up to getting the three complimentary months of Adobe Captivate service, but I’m wondering if I can add that extra three months to the 30 days. Does it switch immediately over to the complimentary three months, or does the 30 day trial expire first and then you get three additional months on top of that? Thank you!

Adobe Captivate compared to other LMS

I’m new to Adobe Captivate as a Learning Management System but I’ve only used Canvas before. Does anyone know how Adobe Captivate compares to Canvas in terms of ease of use for the creator and the user? What kinds of accessibility features does it have that might be different? I’m excited to try something new so I have a better idea of what else is available besides only knowing one LMS. Thank you!

Captivate move on to the next slide

Is there any way to allow the slides moving on to the next slide automatically? The option of moving to the next slide is not available at the Actions feature. Is there any way to do this?

Storyline 360 to Captivate

My organization is considering moving from Storyline 360 to Captivate. We already have a library of courses created with Storyline/Rise 360. Has anyone made this move in the past? How difficult was it to recreate your courses in Captivate? In the end, was it worth all having to recreate your courses? (From my understanding, they are not compatible and will not transfer.) Do you feel Captivate is a better authoring tool? Rochelle Kamont

Additional Fonts on MAc

Hi I thought this would be an easy process, but I have no idea how to complete this process. My customer branding specifically requires the Open Sans font and this is something he will not change. I have looked at numerous ways to add this (Popular) font into my module. I have tried Adobe Fonts, as well as Google fonts. I have followed instructions from Captivate Teacher (Paul Wilson) but these are all PC based examples and when I try […]
