Big Sur (macOS 11) update for Adobe Captivate (2019 release) is here!
Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from. I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]
Hi, Can someone recommend JavaScript, HTML and CSS books for beginners that would be a best fit for Adobe Captivate? I keep researching but do not find anything in particular. However, if anyone can recommend any books that were of great help to you and Captivate, let me know! Currently, I have a few in my Amazon cart but just not sure which would be good. Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action. I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]
Is there a way to enable a learner to redo a simulation? Currently, if a learner has successfully completed the simulation, and revisits it at a later date it loads to the last “Well Done” slide.
Hi, I’m new the responsive game. Watched the videos, and read the books and articles. But still have some questions. 1. Why does the optional option not always appear for objects/shapes? 2. How do I get the smart shapes to adjust the size with the text? I’ve been given the directive to move all of our current courses to responsive. Need a fast and effective way to make this happen. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
Hello, is there any way to publish a Captivate lesson in HTML5 without javascript? In other words, can Captivate produce a pure HTML5 product, or does there have to be .js files in the bundle? Thank you!
Using Advanced Actions to show, change the state of, and hide objects on a slide.
This video shows you how I create my thumbnails for YouTube using Adobe Photoshop.
Can anyone tell me how I can resize the asset window. When I click on it it is so small and I am working from a 30 inch monitor. Any tips would help I can click on the side or corners of the window to enlarge this window screen. I see the accessibility feature part was not incorporated in the user interface design.
Trying to learn how to incorporate Captivate as a children’s librarian. this can be a fun way for my zoom story time the kid can interact with the characters at home. Kids and parents can have fun e-learning about the story through activities that can be presented in Captivate during Zoom story time.
My client does not like the buttons on the skins. I need custom buttons at the top of my content slides that toggle the TOC, Pause/Continue, Audio On/Off, CC On/Off. These buttons work perfectly. I tried using shapes on the master first, but could not change the state. I then moved to the first content slide in the filmstrip and created buttons so the state would change based on the toggle action. I have another group of information that shows […]
Using multi-state objects to effectively present multiple pieces of information on a slide without overwhelming the learner.
#adobecaptivate #360images #virtualreality #hotspots #quiz #trueorfalse
I’m creating a course in Captivate using 360 videos. None of the original features are the same as a pervious versions of Captivate 2019 and its super irritating. For starters, I have to develop the course as one slide vs cutting my videos because the transitioning between slides is very very rough. I can’t continue playing a video after I have a question slide without having to press play on the player, which is cumbersome and quite stupid if you […]
