What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

Augmented Reality (AR) is Revolutionizing Industries: Know How

Augmented Reality (AR) is one such technological marvels that hold the massive potential to transform both human experiences and business operations.

While most of us have heard about Virtual Reality (VR) tech that creates and transports us to a virtual surrounding, Augmented Reality is a little different from VR. Augmented reality creates a totally new kind of environment using everyday devices such as smartphones or tablets.

AR enhances the real-world environment around us by incorporating virtual objects within the real environment.

Breakpoints with Responsive Backgrounds

I often struggled with background images while using breakpoints. I disliked that images would resize on there own causing the image to squeeze into different breakpoints. Using master slides for backgrounds gives you the ability to adjust background images accordingly for each device.

Strategies and Tips for CLOs to Measure and Maximize the Impact of Training and Development Programs

CLOs make significant investments in training and development programs year-on-year. They are essential in enhancing employee performance and, more significantly, driving business results. Majority of the trainings get delivered as planned, and are normally tracked for registrations, completions, timely completions, and assessment scores. However, not much data is available on the impact of these trainings on business – and if they were able to demonstrate a clear gain that was sought. The need of the hour is as follows: To […]

Closed Captioning changing TTS and vice versa

I have a project that uses text-to-speech.  All of my slide notes include VTML code to control the TTS.  I now need to add Closed Captions to my video.  However, when I edit the captions it also edits my TTS.  Obviously this doesn’t work.  I don’t want codes to display in my captions and I don’t want my audio to be without them. How do I create CC without affecting my TTS? (Captivate 2019)

Preview in Captivate 2019 is very glitchy and doesn’t match the project. How to fix this?

When I try to preview a project I am working on, the preview doesn’t fully match my project. The glitches are literally all over the place. Sometimes the timing of actions is off. For example, if an image is suppose to fall in from the top, the action isn’t smooth and it may or may not stop at the end of the motion path like it is supposed to. Sometimes the font is too small (yes I’ve already set the […]
