What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

Multiple Failure messages for Drag&Drop KC slide

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Presenting Event Video with Portable Network Graphics and JavaScript

Click to Play Project Some time ago I pitched a presentation design to a potential client who worked in video post production. Though they ultimately went “in house”, I really liked the final design as it relied heavily on their award winning videos and graphics. This showcase presents an Adobe Captivate 2019 presentation based on that design. Central to the design was including a video player within the presentation. While experimenting with the graphics and video, I found that the […]

Streamed Video in a Web Object (UStream)

My organization is having issues with videos playing in a web object using an embed code. The first problem is that we’ve been unable to make the “black bars” on the top/bottom or left/right (not at the same time) disappear.  Reducing the height, for example, instead ends up pushing the player bar off the bottom of the screen. I’ve also had inconsistent results when I select the “Auto Load” checkbox.  In one project, when the box is unchecked you have […]

Not able to see Add 360 image/video icon on the 360 slide – check for the required GPU/WebGL support on your machine

Problem (the button in the following image to add 360 image/video is not appearing) You may come across this problem with the new VR project/360 image feature within Captivate 2019, where you see the 360 image/video button appearing on most of your machines and on  some machines it just fails to load and blank white slide appears. Before you look for other solutions, I would advise everyone facing the issue to do a basic check on their machines to check […]

Unfortunately when I try to launch the course, I get the 404 error – file or directory not found. I have published as both an SWF and an HTML5 and have had no problems playing it as a flash file but of course that create the Youtube issue. Has anyone seen this issue? Thanks, Tim

Some images do not display when published, but do display using the HTML 5 Browser view. Why not?

I have a simple Captivate (Release 2017) project with several slides that contain images.  All images are .jpeg.   On six of the slides the images display when performing an HTML5 Browser view, but they do NOT display in LMS.  I tried deleting the graphics and then re-adding. That did not work.  I tried deleting the entire slide and then recreating – that did not work. Any suggestions?  I’m stumped!
