Let us take a deep breath first! If we have overused our superlatives in describing any previous contests on this forum, we will like to take it back, and place it here, as what we have witness in these last few weeks on elearning.adobe.com/projects page was nothing short of a phenomenon. Big Sur (macOS 11) update for Adobe Captivate (2019 release) is here!
Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from. I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]
Hi, Can someone recommend JavaScript, HTML and CSS books for beginners that would be a best fit for Adobe Captivate? I keep researching but do not find anything in particular. However, if anyone can recommend any books that were of great help to you and Captivate, let me know! Currently, I have a few in my Amazon cart but just not sure which would be good. Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action. I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]
I created a Blank Project, inserted two 360 slides to it and added hotspots. When clicked, the hotspots should display images. That works in Preview> HTML5 in Browser. However, when I publish the project in HTML5, the images are not displayed when clicking hotspots. See here: http://dev.keypointlearn.com/xcl76_CP/CP2019/VR_Example/ Then, I started a new project, but this time selected Virtual Reality Project. I add the same 360 image/video, hotspots, etc. The hotspots work in the published content. See here: http://dev.keypointlearn.com/xcl76_CP/CP2019/VR_Example_V2/ Is this a […]
The 2019 release of Adobe Captivate introduces the option to import 360° media assets and add hotspots, quizzes and other interactive elements. I had previously worked with 360 virtual tours in another authoring tool, but that was a rather cumbersome process which required Javascript and webobjects. Now in CP2019, you can simply import your existing 360 image or video and overlay other objects. For my test, I used one of the 360 images from a previous project and found a […]
Having used Adobe Captivate for approaching nine years, I am very excited by the new 2019 release, in relation to enhancing courses for greater user knowledge retention, usability and take up. There are many welcome new features (with a shout-out to 360° media support!) but, for me, the flagship new feature is the addition of Interactive videos! The ability to introduce overlay slides to a YouTube streamed (or native) video is excellent, and opens many creative possibilities. Finally, I must […]
Help! I was using Captivate fine… just had training on it! Then , suddenly, my assets have gone . We did replace my wprk poc recently, but they look like they are in a file – not sure if location is correct: C:UsersPublicDocumentsAdobe eLearning Assets anyone got an idea whats gone wrong?
So, I’ve been clicking around Captivate 2019 for a little bit today to focus on some of the new things like VR design and how I might incorporate it into my courses. Awesome. I have some challenges right up-front, but those are the fun kind of challenges that force you to change the way that you think to achieve what you want. And then there’s the interactive video. Also awesome, but I just didn’t have the time to explore that […]
Incorporating Virtual Reality Content, Tools, and Devices into Learning Solutions

In this webinar, we examine image behaviours, tips and workarounds. We also look at the inbuilt Adobe Captivate editing functionality. Not only do we delve into editing images from within Adobe Captivate, but we explore using an outside image editing program, like Photoshop, or even MS Paint (I know there are fans out there..) and importing back into Adobe Captivate. Don’t know how to insert an image at all? You’ll learn that too!
I recently attended SIGGRAPH 2018 in Vancouver, BC. This conference is the premier event in North America for computer scientists, software makers, motion graphic artists and educators. This year, there was a keen focus on the best-of-breed software, practices and techniques in Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and 3D. There were many hands-on examples of VR in use in multiple industries. My two favorites were NASA VR/360 Astronaut Training: Space Walk and nVidia’s Holodeck ( Hint: You are not watching robots […]
I have held the shift key down to select the objects I want grouped, then right mouse clicked and selected Group. I have everything I wanted grouped except for 3 objects. When I select these objects and right mouse click, group is not one of the options. Ctrl G does not seem to work and when I select the objects and go to Edit, Group is grayed out. What do I need to do to get these other three items […]
