What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

Plan on also heading to a Barnes and Nobles this weekend and see what’s […]

Multiple Failure messages for Drag&Drop KC slide

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Learning Interaction Configure Dialog box not displaying

Hi, I am a new user currently trying out the free trial version of Adobe Captivate on a MacBook Air. I can’t get the Configure Interaction dialog box to display anything when I select a Learning Interaction. I’ve tried reinstalling Adobe Captivate, Adobe Air, and Flashplayer but to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanks.

Timing

I have created a training video in Captivate 2019 that I want the users to have to click through the slides. I have recorded some audio on them also. The problem I am having is that the audio on the next slide starts to play without the user clicking to go to the next slide. I am sure I am missing something in the timing. Can someone point me in the right direction?

HTML5 published file still prompting for Flash in LMS

I have a file that we have published as HTML5, however, when loaded to our LMS it is prompting for flash.  I have used the HTML5 tracker and it shows nothing in the file needs to be fixed.  When the file is published, the zip file has 2 .swf files in it:  1  is named haloSkin1_as3_progressive.swf and the other is named Responsive_CoC_10.21.2020.swf.  I am not able to figure out how to get rid of these 2 files.  Any help would […]

Issues with videos after publishing – Captivate to Captivate Prime

I have created a project within Captivate using a number of YouTube videos.  When I preview the project using the “HTML5 in Browser” option, the course runs as I would expect – videos automatically start, buttons are usable, etc. I need to publish this course within Captivate Prime, so I have tried 2 methods: 1) Publishing directly to Prime 2) Publishing as an HTML5 to my computer While both “publish” without issues, when I preview the content, the videos do […]

SCORM 2004 – how to get a failed quiz to close module and next attempt is like new?

Hi all, I have created a module and need to publish into scorm 2004 for our LMS. I have the module built where there are a series of knowledge check questions with one attempt.  If the answer is correct, the following slide’s explanation is short.  If the answer is incorrect, the slide’s explanation is longer. After these knowledge check slides and answers, there is a final quiz. I want it to work where, if the learner gets the quiz incorrect, […]

Hiding Next Button until all my objects have been clicked on

I created some advanced actions so that after all the stars where clicked the next button would appear. I just didn’t assign that advanced action to anything since I thought it would run anyway. However, the Next button is not showing up. Any advice on this? If I need to assign the NextButton advance action, to what do I attach it to?
