What are eLearning Devs and IDs reading?

Greetings all. I am always looking for resources and things to learn from.  I have read some articles recommending books and unfortunately some that seem really interesting I haven’t been able to find, but I will continue to look. Thought I would pose the question here. What are some good resources that you recommend? They don’t have to specifically be direct to eLearning or Instructional Design, but they obviously can. But if there is something that relates and you feel […]

Multiple Failure messages for Drag&Drop KC slide

Intro This article is written as an answer to a question on the forums: Drag&Drop with Advanced Action For quiz slides it is possible to show different Failure messages based on the attempt number. That functionality is not available for Drag&Drop slides. As you can read in the thread, another user posted a solution using the Object actions which are executed after each drag action.  I posted some comments about the limitations of that solution. In this article the described solution is […]

Screen Capture and DpiAwareness error

Hi Everyone, I’ve been testing out Captivate 2019 to see if it would be a good option to use for creating interactive tutorials. One thing I recently tried to do was use the screen capture option to create a demo and then I was going to include a knowledge check. I did not get very far because I got the error “Capture is disallowed since the High-density display was detected. Please set “DPIAwareness = 1” in AdobeCaptivate.ini and restart the […]

Quiz Results page showing an incorrect total number of questions than on actual quiz

I have imported an older captivate (flash) elearning course into Captivate 2019 (html) and there are 6 question quiz at the end.  when I preview the course within captivate, I get the correct number of total questions; 6.  When preview using HTML browser (Chrome & IE) the quiz results slide is showing 50 total questions.  I preview the total questions per project variable at the start and it display 0, so where is the 50 coming from?  any help is […]

Playbar from Captivate project disappears when published

Hi, I have used captivate to create HTML 5 published content. If I publish that content on my own website, then the playbar I configured in Captivate is there, which is great. If I publish the same content to prime and create a single module course from it, then I have no playbar functionality. Is this deliberate “functionality” within prime? I want my  users to play html content (not mp4) and be able to stop, start etc at will, but […]
